e have some digital devices available here at AFPCS that can be borrowed and brought into the classroom.
So, what are they and what can you do with them?
Laptops
Can be used for:
student word processing
connecting to a projector to access an interactive site/videos/PowerPoints, etc.... (#8)
student projects involving digital drawing
completing assignments using an online learning management tool
student blogging
intervention and support through video tutorials or online literacy/math sites
You can sign out #13, 14 & 15 for use with students.
iPods
Can be used for:
Math game center
Literacy support/center/E-books
Science activities/center
recording classroom projects
creating classroom projects that involve photos, video, audio
recording interviews, book reviews and conversations with classmates
collecting data for Science or math activities
Use as dictionary, thesaurus, calculator, research tool
You can sign out up to two (2) at a time.
iPad
Can be used for:
Math game center
Literacy support/center
Science activities/center
E-Books
Use as dictionary, thesaurus, calculator, research tool
May be used in conjunction with projector/computer for remote use of computer
Projector
Can be used with a laptop for:
showing interactive sites like Google Maps
using presentation software to teach a lesson
showing video clips to support a concept
playing interactive games that support curricular goals
Please refrain from signing the projector out
only
for showing movies to students!
Flip Cam
Can be used for:
recording classroom projects
creating classroom projects that involve photos/video
recording interviews, book reviews and conversations with classmates and between students/teachers
recording content to include in a future lesson
Speakers
Can be used for:
for educational videos
for sites that contain songs that teach concepts or help memorize content
Livescribe Pen
Video about using Livescribe in the classroom
